Engineering practical solutions for complex problems

Progressive Web Apps · Applied AI · Risk Analysis · SRE · Analytics · Enterprise Automation

ProgreTech is an independent software engineering and technology practice focused on turning operational problems into practical applications, automation, analytics, and decision-support tools.

I specialize in the space between software engineering, operational reliability, process improvement, analytics, and artificial intelligence—especially when an organization knows a process is too manual, too difficult to monitor, or too dependent on disconnected information but the right solution does not already exist.

That may mean building a Progressive Web App for a team, creating an AI-assisted workflow, analyzing software-change risk, developing an operational dashboard, automating an enterprise process, or creating a purpose-built engineering tool that connects systems already in place.

The goal is not to introduce technology for its own sake. The goal is to understand the problem, determine where technology can genuinely help, and build something people can actually use.

Areas of Expertise

These are the areas where ProgreTech concentrates when evaluating, designing, or building a solution.

Progressive Web Apps & Internal Tools

Responsive applications designed around a real workflow rather than forcing the workflow into generic software. This includes PWAs, internal business tools, offline-capable applications, workflow utilities, dashboards, and purpose-built interfaces that work across desktop and mobile devices.

Applied AI & Intelligent Automation

Using AI where it improves an existing process—not simply adding a chatbot. Typical applications include document analysis, classification, natural-language processing, assisted decision making, information extraction, semantic analysis, workflow automation, and human-in-the-loop systems.

Risk & Impact Analysis

Helping teams understand what may be affected before a change becomes an incident. This includes software change-risk analysis, dependency analysis, regression scope, impact visualization, evidence-based scoring, change governance, and decision-support tooling.

Site Reliability Engineering

Engineering for reliability rather than reacting to failures. ProgreTech projects explore observability, monitoring, operational readiness, incident prevention, diagnostics, release reliability, change governance, automation, resiliency, and SRE-oriented tooling.

Analytics & Operational Dashboards

Turning operational data into information people can act on. This includes KPI dashboards, interactive analytics, anomaly detection, operational reporting, workflow metrics, data visualization, trend analysis, and management decision-support tools.

SAP & Enterprise Engineering

Engineering tools around complex enterprise environments, with particular experience in SAP application lifecycle management, SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, change and release governance, automation, APIs, testing impact, monitoring, and enterprise process improvement.

Problems I Like to Solve

ProgreTech is a particularly good fit when the problem does not neatly fit inside an off-the-shelf product.

  • A manual process consumes hours of repetitive work every week.
  • Teams have plenty of data but no practical way to turn it into decisions.
  • A business process crosses multiple applications and nobody has a clear end-to-end view.
  • Software changes are difficult to assess for risk, regression impact, or operational readiness.
  • An existing enterprise platform works, but the team needs a lightweight tool around it to close a usability or automation gap.
  • An organization wants to experiment with AI but needs a concrete use case with measurable value.
  • A proof of concept needs to move quickly without committing immediately to a large enterprise implementation.
  • A legacy workflow, system, or piece of hardware still has value but needs modern software around it.

I usually approach these problems by first understanding the workflow and the decisions people need to make. From there, the solution might be a small automation, an API integration, a dashboard, a PWA, an analytical model, an AI-assisted workflow, or a larger application.

The technology follows the problem—not the other way around.

From Problem to Working Prototype

1. Understand

Start with the actual workflow, pain points, users, available data, constraints, and desired outcome.

2. Simplify

Identify which parts require software, automation, analytics, AI, process changes—or sometimes no new technology at all.

3. Build

Create a focused prototype or working application that can be tested against the real problem instead of only discussing it theoretically.

4. Improve

Use real feedback and measurable results to determine what should be refined, automated, expanded, integrated, or removed.

Technology When It Makes Sense

ProgreTech projects commonly involve Python, Flask, Progressive Web Apps, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, SAP technologies, OpenAI and other AI models, local language models, natural-language processing, analytics, automation, data visualization, Git, and open-source software.

I am not committed to forcing every project into the same technology stack. Existing enterprise platforms and proven products should be used when they already solve the problem well. Custom software is most valuable when it fills a real gap, connects existing capabilities, simplifies a difficult workflow, or enables something that would otherwise remain impractical.

Built Around Your Organization

Your Product Stays Yours

ProgreTech’s goal is to help you create or improve a capability—not to create dependency on ProgreTech. Solutions should be understandable, maintainable, portable where practical, and built around your organization’s needs and data.

AI Is Optional

Not every solution needs artificial intelligence. When AI provides measurable value, it can be incorporated into the design. When deterministic logic, analytics, automation, or an existing enterprise platform is the better solution, that is what should be used.

When OpenAI business or API services are appropriate for a project, their business privacy and security controls can form part of the solution architecture. Specific data handling, retention, access, and model choices should always be evaluated for the individual use case.

Open & Practical Technology

Open-source technologies are considered whenever they provide a secure, maintainable, and practical alternative. Existing commercial or enterprise solutions remain the better choice when they already solve the requirement effectively.

The objective is not to maximize the amount of custom software. It is to create the smallest practical solution that produces meaningful improvement.

See What I Build

ProgreTech is also my public engineering workshop. Projects include AI-assisted applications, SAP and SRE utilities, risk-analysis tools, analytics dashboards, Progressive Web Apps, Japanese-learning platforms, open-source software, game-development experiments, and hardware-preservation projects.

Have a Problem That Doesn’t Fit in a Box?

Those are usually the interesting ones.

If you are trying to reduce manual work, make operational data useful, improve reliability, understand change risk, modernize an existing process, or determine whether AI can provide practical value, ProgreTech can help you explore the problem and turn the right idea into a working solution.

Start with the problem. We’ll figure out the technology.
